Sweat Sesh We Love: Pound
One of the most amazing things about CHAARG girls is that not two of us are alike — we are a group of 4000+ women with diverse backgrounds + interests. But there is one thing we have in common — we love ta sweat! [Well, most of the time anyway ; )] Even then, we still differ in how we like to move our bodies, + finding your fit is what CHAARG is all about : ). ++ It’s a lot easier to *find your fit* when there are new workouts to try.
With that being said, when we find a workout we immediately fall in love with — we had to share it! Drumroll please [literally ; )]: our new fav workout is Pound — a super fun cardio drumming class that will totally put you in the zone + make working out a blast!
WHAT IS POUND?
Pound is a sweat sesh + a jam sesh all in one! This class incorporates special weighted drumsticks called Ripstix which you use to *literally* pound to the rhythm of the music. Essentially, Pound makes you feel like a rockstar getting a killer cardio workout. Oh, + your arms will be feelin’ the burn ; ).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pound combines cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics + isometric poses, constantly keeping your body moving + sweating. Each song focuses on a different area of fitness + includes interval peaks + an optimal fat burning section, which gives you an amazing workout in just a 45 minute class. Not to mention you feel like a total #girlboss drumming to the beat of some of your fav songs. If you’re not super rhythmic, no worries — Pound incorporates simple moves which are easy to learn for everyone, so you can totally own your workout.
WHY YOU SHOULD TRY POUND
It’s simple: Pound is downright blast. You’ll hardly feel like you’re working out while pounding it out to the music — Pound lets you to just completely let go + get lost in the rhythm, making it a great physical + mental workout.
HOW SHOULD I COME PREPARED TO CLASS?
All you need for Pound is yourself + a yoga mat [expect to do some drumming on the ground ; )]. Dress in comfortable workout clothing [nothing too loose-fitting] + cross-trainers. Don’t forget a water bottle!
