// THE MOMENT //
The moment I knew I wanted to become the next CHAARG Ambassador at my university… I knew I wanted to become the next UC CHAARG Ambassador when I saw the positive difference CHAARG can make in the lives of college-aged women. One of my favorite quotes is, “Your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will begin to change.” + when CHAARG girls attend event after event, their lives slowly change — I know this from experience. One of the best parts of CHAARG events is the positive atmosphere + energy in the room — there are so many positive vibes!
I think the exact moment I knew I wanted to be the next UC Ambassador was at one of our Welcome Party Events. The positive energy in McMicken Commons was AMAZING. Everyone was having so much fun + meeting new girls. I was in awe that one, simple idea [Changing Health, Attitudes + Actions to Recreate Girls] could bring so many diverse women together. I was so inspired + proud to call myself a UC CHAARG girl that I knew I wanted to be the next ambassador + play a larger role in changing the lives of young women at UC.
My passion for health + fitness was ignited when… I signed up for the 2014 Spring Break FitPlan. I had been a competitive tennis player up until college + when I got to UC, I felt like something was missing — being active every day. I attempted to workout by myself without an entire team + trainer for the first time in my life ++ I’ll admit that it was very challenging. I had a difficult time creating workouts for myself, staying focused, + going to the gym alone. After I joined CHAARG, I began to look forward to main events + small group workouts — they were my favorite part of my week! However, I was still missing the confidence + inner drive to workout by myself. During my first CHAARG FitPlan experience, I began to gain confidence + absolutely love the *me time* I had at the gym everyday. I learned more about working out + nutrition from the FitPlan itself + the other CHAARG girls participating than I ever thought I would. I became incredibly comfortable at the rec + truly felt #inCHAARG. Not only did I understand health + fitness more, I valued it more, + as a result — it became a huge part of my everyday life.

If you could work out with anyone dead or alive, what workout would you do + who would you work out with? I would definitely go to a spinning class with Carrie Bradshaw [SJP.]

My passion is… Traveling! There is something so beautiful about experiencing a foreign place for the first time. There are constantly new things to see, smell, people to meet, + food to try — it’s a thrill!
I am #inCHAARG because… I cannot imagine living life without being surrounded by this group of empowering + motivated women.
