RunCHAARG is the kick-off to our fall semester [hey, have you joined CHAARG? ; )]. We have a cardio challenge during this time where we encourage you to log bolts [miles] ++ spread the word about CHAARG. Every RunCHAARG, we have a different theme... this fall's theme is make a habit to try new things.
Routines are important [trust me, we love morning routines] -- but, trying new things has incredible benefits… our favs being: #1] it keeps us from being bored, #2] it opens up the possibility of enjoying something new, + #3] forces us to grow.
We grow when we are able to embrace new attitudes, new habits, new ways of thinking, + new experiences. For many of us, there’s always a little bit of fear when trying something new [the fear of the unknown!] -- BUT, research shows that trying something new with a friend [or better yet, an entire community <3] will give you the courage to go after those big, scary dreams of yours.
It’s time to rally up your crew + try new things together [aka TRY CHAARG ; )]… + log TONS + TONS of bolts together. Need an incentive to run besides a huge boost of endorphins + the pride of #owning a workout? We’re throwin’ a RunCHAARG Chapter Challenge! It’s about to go down...
++ Create an #inCHAARG insta account [@name_inCHAARG] + commit to the challenge -- Post an intro pic using your university overlay [find it here!] + your Chapter Hashtag. Make sure your #inCHAARG Instagram account is *public* [not private!] so that we can follow your journey! : )
++ Between August 13 -- September 17, earn points for your Chapter! -- There are three ways to earn points… Using Your Chapter Hashtag, Attending Your #WearCHAARGWednesday Meetup, + Logging Bolts! Basically, the more hashtags + bolts you log… THE BETTER : )
++ Get inspired with our motivational newsletters -- On Sundays, you’ll receive a #SundayRunday Newsletter filled with motivation for the week ahead!

Post how you’ve logged each of your bolts on instagram [don’t forget the hashtags ; )]! On the last week, you will be sent a form to share how many total bolts you’ve completed. #HonorSystem
*To keep this challenge ~fair + square~, we will be dividing the amount of bolts you earn by the number of Chapter members you have to get an “average” of points per member!
Do I need to sign up for RunCHAARG?
There is no *sign up* required to participate in RunCHAARG! All CHAARG Chapter members are able to participate! Upon joining CHAARG, you can begin to log bolts for your chapter!
How do I log my bolts?
You will individually track your bolts through posts from your _inCHAARG Instagram using #RunCHAARG + your chapter hashtag! At the end of RunCHAARG, you will submit your final number of bolts through a form in an email sent on Sunday, September 17 from National CHAARG.
Do group fitness classes count as *bolts* [Zumba, Pilates, etc.]?
Group fitness classes, yoga, pilates + other *cardio* based fitness classes are not considered *bolts* -- cardio that can easily be measured [walking//running, biking, jump roping, etc.] counts as bolts! See the pic above to find out exactly what counts as 1 bolt : )
