// THE MOMENT //
The moment you knew you wanted to start a CHAARG chapter at your university… When I found the website! I stayed up wayyy too late reading everything I could about CHAARG and jumping around my room [I’m a nerd — I know]. I was still looking for my *thing* at Iowa + I knew CHAARG was it as soon as the website loaded. I realized that becoming a part of CHAARG would help me play out two of my greatest passions: fitness + helping others.
My passion for health + fitness was ignited when… I ended my volleyball career. I always imagined that I wanted to play in college but when I neared high school graduation I realized I was burnt out + was ready to try something new. I knew this would be a strange transition because it would be my first time NOT playing a sport. I was lucky enough to have some awesome conditioning coaches through my volleyball clubs. Because of them, I began to love fitness outside of the sport realm. When I ended my volleyball career, I suddenly had the opportunity to try everything I had yearned for. I began weight lifting, attempting yoga, + trying out new group exercise classes at my gym. I was hooked. The more I experienced, the more I loved living a healthy lifestyle. And from there, well the rest is history : )

Favorite Meal… Sushi — the spicier, the better.
Favorite Indulgence… ICE CREAM. I can never turn it down. HaloTop is the BEST *healthier* brand. A drizzle of peanut butter on top doesn’t hurt! But Jeni’s ice cream will always have my heart.
// SWEAT //
If you could work out with anyone dead or alive, what workout would you do + who would you work out with? I am a HUGE [health, fitness, + lifestyle] blog reader so I would love to meet Julie Fagan from Peanut Butter Fingers. She was one of the first blogs I started reading. I love her upbeat energy + passion for fitness [but also amazing food] + how her personality shines through her posts. A nice run + kettlebell workout would be awesome! Julie is a certified personal trainer so I would be psyched to try whatever she threw at me.
A song that gets me pumped to take on a #sweatsesh is… anything punk/rock from 5+ years ago. I LOVE throwbacks.
// INSPIRE //
My passions are… cooking, fitness, and trying new things. I love taking delicious recipes + making them healthier! Trying new things allows me to learn + experience new opportunities to continue to find things that interest me.
I am #inCHAARG because… I have grown to be confident in my abilities. Through fitness, I have discovered myself + what makes me happy. Not only did I add weight to bar, but I added strength to my life. I no longer sit back from what interests me, what sets my soul on fire, because of insecurities + doubts about myself. I firmly believe in doing more of what makes you happy.

3 words to describe you are… Driven, Morning-person, + Learner
Fun Fact… When I was little, I HATED sleeping. I always told my mom + dad that there were too many things I wanted to do + friends I wanted to see to waste time sleeping. I embrace sleep a little warmer these days, but if I had one superpower — I would never have to sleep again.
