// THE MOMENT //
The moment I knew I wanted to become the next CHAARG Ambassador at my university… The moment I knew that I wanted to become the next CHAARG Ambassador at Ohio State was back at an event where we had the pleasure of listening to a talk by a mental health professional. She started the event with a guided meditation. She prompted us to be mindful. To be present. To focus on where we were at. It was in that moment that I thought of who I was surrounded by. I was in a room filled with passionate + supportive women. Women who are striving to improve their lives in many aspects, not just one. Women who love each other for who they are. Women who work hard + challenge others to do the same. Women who struggle, but are there for each other through the hardest times. Strong women, beautiful women, driven women. Who better to be with than this community? Why on earth would I want to be anywhere else than in that moment? It was then that I realized I was right where I was meant to be. It’s where I WANT to be — surrounded by these incredible people + be able to facilitate and support them in their journey to a better life for themselves. More than anything, I was affirmed that night of one thing. There was fiery passion in my heart was burning for the desire to be the CHAARG Ambassador at The Ohio State University.
My passion for health + fitness was ignited when… I decided to let go of my past as a collegiate student athlete + began focusing on who I wanted to be. I had always been given practices or workouts to complete — ever since I was 5 years old. Once I dropped my sport, I no longer had someone telling me how or when to workout. I was on my own. I slipped into a world of laziness — avoiding workouts + developing poor eating habits. It was a period of self criticism + destruction, one I am certainly not proud of. It took some time, but eventually I realized I was hurting my body more than helping it. I became tired of the lazy lifestyle + wanted more. I wasn’t sure what that was, but I was craving a change. I began running [something I had NEVER considered before as a self-proclaimed *water creature*], I lifted more, I tried spinning classes — I loved the feeling I would get after a great set or long ride. I wanted to learn more about ways I could explore various forms of fitness + recreation ++ lucky for me, I found CHAARG. I was hooked right then + there!

If you could work out with anyone dead or alive, what workout would you do + who would you work out with? BEYONCE, HANDS DOWN! Cause who wouldn’t want to workout with her?! That woman is a powerhouse. We would definitely do squats + a zumba style workout after, so homegirl can show me some moves! *salsa dancing emoji*

My passion is… People are my passion. I live for daily conversations, seeing development in others, + making genuine relationships with those around me. That’s why I love CHAARG so dang much! ; )
I am #inCHAARG because… I am okay with not being perfect — I understand that life is about learning along the journey, not simply arriving at the destination.
