It’s hard to believe the MICH CHAARG Chapter started a year ago with the lovely Colleen Webb. Alli was the Event Coordinator at that time + I am so proud to now welcome her as the second Ambassador of MICH CHAARG! Alli has a bubbly + sweet personality, that I know all of the CHAARG girls appreciated last year when she was the EC. I’m excited to see her #takeCHAARG ++ lead MICH CHAARG to do awesome things in Ann Arbor [side note — I’m a buckeye in love with Ann Arbor]! Also, stay tuned for WEDNESDAY — Alli has a CHAARG BOOTY CAMP playlist that is freakin’ phenomenal. You’ll be in dance mode throughout your whole sweat sesh. ; ) Anyways, without further adieu — meet ALLI.

How did you hear about CHAARG?
I first heard of CHAARG through a mass sorority email from Colleen Webb [MICH CHAARG’s first ambassador]. I love all things health + fitness + just reading the short email I knew I wanted to be a part of CHAARG. I then checked out the website + read many of the awesome blog posts which only made me want to become more involved! Although already involved in other campus activities + worrying about balancing more extracurriculars with school, I knew CHAARG was the perfect organization for me, so I replied to Colleen to find out how I could become involved. I was so excited when I heard that I had been chosen as the Event Coordinator for MICH CHAARG’s first year on campus + am even more excited to have been chosen as ambassador for this upcoming school year!
What ignited your passion for health + fitness?
Growing up I was involved in many sports – soccer, basketball, swimming, volleyball, competitive dance, cross-country + track – I loved being active + working with a team. Competitive dance was what I became truly passionate about + even became an assistant dance teacher during my four years of high school. I loved performing on stage, working hard at practice + bonding with my teammates. Senior year of high school I decided to join the cross country team to be a part of something through the school + be able to see some of my close friends more. That spur of the moment decision to try something new was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only was I able to experience the school team spirit, but I fell in love with running! There was no pressure to be great because I was already a senior, so I just had fun + enjoyed every minute. After high school ended I continued running with my cross country friends + working as an assistant dance teacher in the summer. Even after finishing high school + not being a part of a team anymore, I still craved that feeling you get after a great workout which is what kept me motivated! Although making time for fitness + making healthy food choices became difficult as college continued, finding CHAARG this past year has given me the support + motivation I needed to continue making health + fitness an important part of my everyday life. I love this community + am so excited to see it continue to grow!
Aside from working out, what else do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time [a rarely used phrase in college : )] I love to hang out with close friends — Thursday night burger deal at Charley’s is the best! I also enjoy just relaxing + watching whatever my current Netflix addiction is — Grey’s Anatomy will forever be my favorite <3
What excites you the most about being the leader of the CHAARG chapter at your school?
Being the leader of CHAARG is such an honor + I can’t wait to share my excitement with all my CHAARGies [new + old] in the Fall! After a year of establishing ourselves on campus, we are ready to take MICH CHAARG to the next level! I am most excited to begin implementing more ways to excite + inspire the MICH CHAARG girls to stay involved throughout the semester + find their fit in CHAARG wherever it may be. I want to be able to help inspire the MICH CHAARG girls as the National CHAARG girls have inspired me!
Do you go to Michigan? Email Alli at michCHAARG@gmail.com + learn how to get involved with CHAARG — whether as a general member, exec member, or supporter!
