It’s Monday — and you know what? I friggin’ love Mondays. I truly do. I always think of Monday as a fresh start, a clean slate, a new opportunity, + a chance to set the bar high for the week.
If you saw my instagram post last night, you know that I went on a “late night” [it was actually only 6 PM — yet it was dark, #gimmesunshine] 30 minute run, following the #CHAARGFitPlan October Calendar.
I was listening to the Rise + Run playlist on our 8tracks [which, by the way, as 15,000+ plays — EXCUSE ME WHAT?] + with about 5 minutes left of the run, the playlist was over [sadface]. What came on next was an unexpected burst of inspiration. I’ve never heard a motivational talk on 8tracks, let alone in the “workout” category… alas, whoever created this playlist knows what’s up. I’ve heard this speech before — “How Bad Do You Want It? [Success]” — however, there was something about listening to it at night while running that ignited passion inside of me. This was exactly what I needed to hear.

Guys. This is so applicable to us right now during these six weeks of the CHAARG FitPlan. Do you want to succeed? You can. You have the tools. But, you need to make the time. You need to want it — badly.
You get what you put in. Grab the heavier weight. Do the burn out. Do the entire mile warmup. Reach out to a CHAARG girl to complete the workout with you. Ask a question if you are looking for a modification. Keep a food journal. Set goals — mini goals, every week, that will lead you to your larger goals. Do the work. Reap the reward. #DOITFORTHEAFTER but at the same time, enjoy the process. After all, this FitPlan is about falling in love with fitness. If you aren’t putting in enough effort [think about a relationship, eh?], chances are, fitness will not have the impact it could have on you.
You are doing this for you. Make the time you deserve to have a successful FitPlan. I know it’s hard. You are all busy college students, but if you truly want to live a healthier lifestyle you have to find time to make it to the gym. You’re the only one that can make that happen. Your mom isn’t going to be waking you up in the morning for high school practice + you don’t have a sports team counting on you to be there [well, you do have your CHAARG girls — but you know what I mean!] — you just have yourself. The only person who is holding you accountable in the end is you. Make promises to yourself + keep them.
Health + fitness is an ongoing journey. Every day we must make a deliberate choice to live happy + healthy. To me, the two are pretty interchangeable. When I choose the healthier foods + choose to work out, I just feel better — physically + emotionally. Don’t you? ++ the best part… it gets easier! It really does. It’s something you start to crave.
So, today, as we start Week Two of the CHAARG FitPlan, tell yourself that you will make the best out of this week. You will complete every CHAARG UP + SWEAT SESH + BURN OUT. You will eat healthy meals. You will have a positive mindset. You will believe in yourself. You will succeed.
You can do it. I know you can. I am so excited to watch your journey + be there for you every step of the way! + with that… GET AFTER IT +
