Dorm Friendly Breakfast Recipes
We’ve all heard the phrase “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. While I can’t say any one meal is more important than the rest, breakfast does play an important role in establishing our energy for the day. Let’s face it, it can be tough to get to the dining hall before an early morning class or after a morning workout before your busy day. Instead of grabbing a bar + rushing off, or skipping breakfast all together, here are some easy, dorm friendly recipes to keep you satisfied!
MOCHA MORNING SMOOTHIE
- 1 frozen banana
- ½ cup vanilla yogurt [or 1 single serving cup]
- ½ cup cold brew
- ¼ cup oats
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
DIRECTIONS
Blend together + enjoy!
CHUNKY MONKEY OVERNIGHT OATS
- ½ cup oats
- ½ cup choice of milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- Chocolate chips
- Walnuts
- 1 banana
DIRECTIONS
#1] Combine oats, milk, chia seeds, peanut butter, chocolate chips + walnuts in a container
#2] Stir + refrigerate overnight
#3] Top with banana slices when ready to eat!
MUG PANCAKE
- ½ cup pancake mix
- ½ cup milk of choice or water
- Optional: your favorite fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips to mix in
DIRECTIONS
#1] Stir ingredients together in a mug until combined
#2] Microwave for 1 minute. Add time in 10 second increments if not fully cooked
*for added protein, choose a pancake mix with added protein or add half a scoop of protein powder (with additional milk or water)
PUMPKIN YOGURT BOWL
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- Diced apple
- Walnuts
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
DIRECTIONS
Combine ingredients in a bowl + enjoy!
