What the Class of 2019 Wishes They Knew at 19

College is full of new experiences, new friendships, + brand new adventures. As exciting as these four years are, they come with worries + anticipation from the incoming freshman class, too! Luckily, we have a whole class of graduates who have learned the ropes already + have some words of wisdom for new CHAARG girls.

Maddie Wells, Pitt ‘19 [@health_and_wells_ness] — “Learn to balance being selfish + being selfless. Doing stuff to benefit others is good, but knowing what’s good for you is also important.”

Julia Shaughnessy, UMass ‘19 + CLC [ [@jshaun_inchaarg] — “Take a deep breath + go for it! Example — if I hadn’t, CHAARG wouldn’t be at my school!”

Monica Hare, Pitt ‘19 [@mon_inchaarg] — “Being unrecognizable to your 18-year-old self 4 years from now is the goal not a fear!”

Leah Maxey, OU ‘19 + CLC [@leahmaxey] — “Don’t let anyone limit you. You are your greatest limit — so you can do anything!”

Marisa Barrera, Texas A&M ‘19 [@marisa_barrera] — “Things will not go as planned, so just try to ride the waves + you’ll get through it.”

Sarah Slater, UWM ‘19 [@sarahslater371] — “Don’t change who you are just to fit in. You may not end up liking the person you become.”

Nikki Ray, Pitt ‘19 [@naturally_nikki] — “Don’t be afraid to go out + have fun, having a social life is important too!”

Lina Salameh, Boston U ‘19 [@linatheresafitness] — “Take a deep breath + dive in, it’s all going to be worth it.”

Rachel Dziabuda, GVSU ‘19 [@rachel.dziabuda] — “Trust your gut instincts! In the end, they are always right!”

Kathryn Higginbotham, Auburn ‘19 [@yogi_inchaarg] — “Don’t be afraid to do something you wouldn’t normally just because you don’t know anyone yet.”

Magi Zavalova, UIC ‘19 + CLC [@magi_inchaarg] — “Start internships early + get involved as much as you can!”

++ My words of wisdom? Enjoy every second, it’ll be over before you know it! Good luck to the Class of ‘23!
