I love a good post-workout protein smoothie, but sometimes a girl just needs a little variety in her life. Popcorn is one of my go-to snacks — it’s crunchy + salty + takes less than five mins to make – what’s not to love! This savory popcorn is a little out-of-the-box, but I highly recommend giving it a try!
You might be thinking, hey — what’s with this nutritional yeast stuff? YEP. It does sound totally weird. But — it’s packed full of the good stuff [protein//vitamins//minerals//fiber] + it tastes like cheese! This stuff has some serious potential. I have never actually felt full after eating popcorn…until now. Enjoy!
Don’t believe that nutritional yeast is all it cracks up to be? Read up on it’s nutritional facts here [thanks, Alexa!]
3 tbsp Popcorn Kernels
½ tsp Garlic Powder
2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
Salt + Pepp [to taste!]
1 Brown Paper Bag [the kind you used to take your lunch to school in back in the day ; ) ]
1] Add the popcorn kernels to the brown paper bag + roll the top down a few times. Stick the bag in the microwave for 2:30-3 mins, or until there are about 2 seconds between pops.
3] Spritz the popcorn with a lil’ water — optional, but its helps the seasonings stick. Sprinkle on the nutritional yeast, garlic powder, + season with salt+pepper to taste. I recommend spritzing + sprinkling in a couple layers so the seasonings don’t fall to the bottom!
