CCG Smoothie — We’re Talking Cauliflower + Coconut + Greens

You’ve heard of cauliflower rice + cauliflower pizza crust, now, we’re putting cauliflower in our smoothies [thanks to @leefromamerica! ; )]. Similar to adding spinach, adding cauliflower won’t ruin the taste of your smoothie, but instead, will add a creamy texture — think of frozen cauliflower as creamy ice cubes that are also detoxifying + mineral-rich ; )

BENEFITS OF CAULIFLOWER //

  • Vitamins C, K + B
  • Omega- 3 fatty acids
  • Antioxidants such as beta-carotene + cinnamic acid
  • Minerals such as folate, fiber + magnesium

The main benefits from the above ingredients are: cardiovascular and digestive health, neutralizing damaging free radicals throughout your body, + helping to lower inflammation. You can read more details about the benefits here!

To get started, we recommend steaming your cauliflower before freezing it as it aids in digestion but, you can totally use frozen raw cauli. [CHAARG Tip: buy frozen cauliflower in a steam bag — microwave it + then transfer cauliflower to small zip-loc baggies for easy steaming]. We added a frozen banana to this to add extra creaminess, but if you’re trying to cut down the sugar you can take it out.

INGREDIENTS //

  • 1/2 cup Frozen Cauliflower
  • 1/2 of an Avocado
  • 2 handfuls Kale // Spinach [make sure kale is stemmed — aka just the leaves!]
  • 1-2 cups Milk [we used almond but you can use any nut milk]
  • 1 tablespoon Nut Butter [we used peanut]
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1 cup Frozen Coconut Chunks — we got ours from Trader Joe’s [if you use 2 cups of full-fat coconut milk for milk option
  • above you can skip this!]
  • 1/2 scoop Greens Powder*
  • 1 scoop Collagen*

**Greens powder + collagen are completely optional! You can also use a protein powder, hemp seeds, or chia seeds for added protein//nutrients

DIRECTIONS //

#1] Add in milk + any powders [greens//collagen//protein] #2] Add in the cauliflower, banana, coconut chunks + avocado
#3] Blend for about 1-2 minutes until the chunks are out!
#4] Add in the kale + nut butter
#5] Blend until the kale is blended in [no chunks!]

It’s that simple! Top your smoothie with shredded coconut flakes or granola + enjoy — trust us, you WILL enjoy it!
