6 Ways To Experience All The #EATS In A New City
Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or you’ve just moved to a new city — finding the right #EATS is essential. It’s easy to lean toward restaurants that you’re familiar with, but we challenge you to try something new this summer! On a sunny Saturday, ditch the car + hop on a train//metro into the city ++ get ready to explore! Here are a few ways to release your inner foodie + make the most of food in a new city : )
1] DO YOUR RESEARCH
Like anything great in this world, finding the perfect place to eat is going to involve a little #werk. Use foodie-friendly apps like Yelp to browse restaurants//eateries or Tastemade to watch short videos to get a feel for the best places in your area.
2] ASK FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Don’t be shy to talk to the locals in the area — ask them about the secret hole-in-the-wall hideaways that serve the most delicious treats. We advise you to avoid chain restaurants [the majority of the time] to get a feel for the uniqueness of the city!
3] CHECK OUT THE LOCAL HOT SPOTS
Sometimes the smallest, most casual places will serve the best #EATS. Take it to the street + try a food truck or a stand that serves fresh food made right in front of you. It doesn’t get more local than that!
4] DOCUMENT THE JOURNEY
We’re all about living in the moment, but sometimes you have to snap a picture ; ) Photos are the easiest way to remember the place + how delicious the food was. We all love our #foodstagrams [especially our CHAARG girl @mollytavoletti]!
5] ATTEND A FOOD FESTIVAL
Chances are with the warm weather there’s some sort of food festival going on in, or around your city this summer! Check out the cities festival *cal,* grab some friends [or meet some along the way ; )] + GO! All of those #EATS in one place at one time is the perfect way to get a taste for what the city has to offer : )
6] DON’T BE AFRAID TO BRANCH OUT
Good things never came from comfort zones [including good eats ; )]. We challenge you to try a new food//restaurant every month this summer — you never know what you may love! Branching out is a great way to expose yourself to a lot of new experiences ++ you may even meet some new #foodiefriends!
