10 Things That Could Be Discouraging Your Sweat Sesh

As the CHAARGBOOTYCAMP starts to come to a close, the motivation you had at the beginning has probably started to fade. ++ that’s completely normal way to feel at this point in the game! There are many factors that could be countering all the hard work you’ve put in thus far, from the amount of sleep you get every night, to what you eat before + after your sweat sesh. Contemplate if any of the following things are discouraging you during the last leg of the CHAARGBOOTYCAMP. Leave them behind + never look back, so you can be one step closer to accomplishing your fitgoals.

To-do lists for work, classes + your personal life could be the root of your discouragement. There is a direct correlation between excessive stress + weight gain. Step away from your mile-long to-do list for an hour a day + do something good for yourself. Use your Sunday to de-stress + unwind from the week, to be mentally prepared for the week of CHAARGBOOTYCAMP ahead.

To achieve your maximum results, it’s important that you take a rest day to recover between sweat seshes. Instead of running, or lifting weights on your day off, take a yoga class, walk your pup, or lay by the pool. You’ve put in immense amounts of hard work thus far, rest your body + your mind!

If you aren’t getting your recommended 7-9 hours of sleep per night, it could be a huge productivity killer in + out of the gym. Sleep is the time when your body heals itself. To be alert, focused + motivated for your sweat sesh + your daily to-dos, it’s pertinent that you get a consistent good night’s sleep.

If you are trying to get to your ideal, healthy weight it isn’t all about eating way less//more calories than you currently consume. It’s about being consistent with your diet. Have you heard of the 80/20 rule? Eating healthy 80% of your week + #TreatYourself the other 20% is said to be a realistic nutrition rule of thumb to live by while trying to reach your FitGoals.

Your body is ¾ water, ya know? Especially with the hot weather, it’s so important to drink 8 glasses of water per day. If you start feeling fatigued, get frequent headaches, or your pee is dark yellow – you are most likely dehydrated + need to drink some h2o ASAP. Always carry your CHAARG S’well with you, so you’ll never go thirsty! If you’re not a huge water drinker, try infusing your water with fruit!

Stretching is one of the most important parts of your body’s recovery. Stretching releases tight muscles + will help you be less sore the next day. It will also help you mentally relax + helps restore your body! Yoga is a great post-sweat sesh stretch + can be done in the convenience of your own home.

*Your vibes attract your tribe* – seriously so true! The people who constantly surround you – your friends, family, significant other, are the people whose energy you will feed off of. If your best friend is constantly taking all of her negative vibes out on you, then you will most likely project some sort of negative aura. If your mom is a big ball of happiness at all times, then you will most likely project positivity. Don’t let negative people around you stop you from accomplishing your full potential. #PositiveVibesOnly

Obviously as a CHAARG girl you want to set challenging goals. If you’re anything like me, you set these lofty goals [that you can totally achieve], but think that you can achieve all of your far-fetched goals at once. For example, I’ve been trying to rework my morning + night time flows. I wanted to start journaling every morning, read 10 minutes before bed, meditate for 10 minutes in the morning, get a sweat sesh in + watch GMA before heading to work. All of the goals I set are totally achievable. With time they will all become habits + I will feel so accomplished reaching my goals, but as you can imagine when they didn’t all happen at once I felt down on myself. Then I realized that I needed to set more realistic goals within a realistic time period. Now I am going to add one of those actions to my routine each month, one-by-one they will all be incorporated into my routine. Setting realistic goals for yourself will only make you be honest with yourself. Reaching your goals is a great feeling not matter how long it takes you.

Each human being is beautifully unique when they come into this world, but it’s the world that shifts our perceptions of our individuality. We allow our minds to be consumed by societies pressures to one-up everyone around us. Whether it’s via insta [*comparing our behind the scenes, to some else’s highlight reel*], while walking down the street, or on the beach. But it does not have to be this way. No one’s life is perfect, no matter what their insta feed looks like. Reminding yourself that everyone suffers through real struggles + challenges behind the scenes, helps you relate to others, versus envying + comparing yourself to them. Your best CHAARG friend’s CHAARGBOOTYCAMP journey will look totally different than yours + that is okay. Your favorite fashion//fitness blogger might look like she has her life together, but behind the scenes she too faces challenges. Don’t allow your mind to fall victim to the negative vibes of society. Your journey is special + unique. Cherish it moment-by-moment for all that it’s worth.
