It would be a dream to be able to wear your fave leggings to work instead of uncomfortable slacks or skirts. With the growing popularity of athleisure clothing, it was only a matter of time before more casual, comfortable clothes made it to the workplace — FINALLY! Being busy students + hard-working, young adults, we need clothes that can let us flow between our many responsibilities. High heels, pencil skirts, + fitted blazers are made to make us look professional, but we deserve to feel comfortable too! Bring on the *workleisure* —
*Workleisure* doesn’t necessarily promote wearing leggings + a crop top to an interview or a business meeting, but it does promote comfort in the workplace, so long as that comfort is appropriate. Designers are thankfully realizing potential for active, busy people, ++ that we need a wardrobe that fits into our lifestyle. Comfort + mobility is no longer only reserved for the gym or lounging around the house. Flowing between class, work, volunteering, student org meetings [like all you busy CHAARG execs out there : )], the gym, + all other responsibilities is a lot easier when you can breathe + your body can move more freely + easily.
For girls who are constantly on the move, going between the gym, work, school, + everything in between, comfort is essential. When it comes to being seen as fierce women, we can’t sacrifice style + professionalism for comfort. *Workleisure* makes it so that we don’t have to give up style for comfort. Of course we want to make a good impression on our bosses or potential employers + our fellow colleagues, but we can still own our many responsibilities without the restrictions of tight, uncomfortable *work* clothes.
The important thing to remember about *workleisure* is that the idea isn’t to wear workout clothes to work, but to wear professional clothes that are made of comfortable, breathable materials. Dress pant yoga pants, flowy blouses, active blazers, + reversible dresses are easy pieces of *workleisure* clothing to wear + style. They keep you comfortable, yet are appropriate for business settings.
We love pairing leggings with a cute tee + button-up shirt or a comfy sweater. Leggings can be perfect with flats, boots, or even *lifestyle* kicks. Embrace your style + keep it comfy // chic!
If you find yourself constantly running from place to place + you’re looking for more comfort in your routine, so long as you follow the rules of your workplace, *workleisure* can *work* for you. ; )
