Sometimes when we’re rushing to the gym after school // work we end up wearing the day’s makeup during our workouts. However, wearing makeup during a #sweatsesh can be harmful to your skin, clogging pores + causing breakouts // irritation. Try a minimalist approach to makeup so that it’s possible to get a good workout in without harming your skin —
1] TINTED MOISTURIZER
Foundation can feel cakey + clog pores when mixed with sweat, but opting for a tinted moisturizer provides a foundation-like glow while also being light on the skin. Aim to find one that includes SPF to keep you protected — even if you’re doing an indoor HIIT workout for the #CHAARGBootyCamp! ; ) You can combine tinted moisturizer with a concealer to feel happy in the skin you’re in, without all the excess product.
2] OPT FOR WATERPROOF
If you like to wear mascara or eyeliner to the gym, opt for waterproof versions. As you’re sweating, regular products might smudge + run, leaving you with raccoon eyes, or worse, an eye infection. Luckily, a great waterproof brand will be able to outlast even the sweatiest cardio sesh without smudging.
3] BLOTTING SHEETS
Remove excess sweat + shine with blotting sheets. Post-stretch, run to the bathroom + blot away that extra shine. These sheets are especially handy if you’ve got plans after your workout, but not enough time to completely wash your face. Keep ‘em in your pocket for a quick + easy post-workout touch-up.
