Weekends are a great time to relax + detox from a long week. Many times we’ll see friends, family, ++ go on small adventures that we don’t have time for during the weekday grind. Seeing friends + family doesn’t have to take away from the progress you’ve made during the week [+ make Mondays feel a little more Monday-ish]. With 48 hours of *you time,* we’re giving you five ways to incorporate a workout into your weekend —
1] PLAN A REST DAY DURING THE WEEK
If you want to keep moving during the weekend, plan a rest day during your Monday – Friday schedule + place that workout in the plan for Saturday or Sunday. Take the extra time during the week to meal prep, visit a friend, or relax with a good book + your favorite drink. One of the best parts of the #CHAARGBootyCamp is that it is *flexible* + meant to fit into your schedule! Shifting your workout to the weekend will not only keep you moving, but allow for you to focus on the workout rather than feeling like you have to complete it.
Strap on your hiking boots + head outside this summer! Find a new [or favorite ; )] trail + head out to the hills. Gear up with all of the essentials + enjoy your day in the sun. If you’re looking to change up the scenery, check the trail hours to see if you can hike during the sunrise or sunset hour + take in the views. : )
3] LOG SOME BOLTS
#TeamCHAARG challenged us to log 100 bolts during the #CHAARGBootyCamp, so what better way to get active than to keep heading towards that goal? Take the weekend to try a new way to log bolts. If you always run, try swimming, or if you always swim, try rowing! Repeat a FitPlan cardio workout, or head to the blog to find some of our favorite cardio workouts — anyone up for Stunner Sprint?
4] FIND A NEW FITNESS STUDIO // CLASS
There are a whole host of fitness studios + classes out there for a CHAARG girl to try. Find a new studio near you + sign up for a class that sounds fun! If you don’t want to go alone, grab your Bolt Babe + head to the studio together for extra encouragement + support. Don’t forget to take a sweaty selfie afterwards!
5] PRACTICE MINDFULNESS
Trade your running shoes for a yoga mat + practice mindfulness this weekend. Stretch out your muscles + mind while practicing a few yoga poses. One of the best parts about yoga is that it is not weather dependent. You can set your mat up in your bedroom or in your backyard to get in some well deserved *me time.* Focus on your intentions for the session + let the rest of the world fall away. You’ll feel refreshed + ready for the week ahead!
Whether you stretch your comfort zone or try something new, there are plenty of ways to incorporate weekend workouts into your training plan. Listen to your body + take rest when you need it, but if you have the energy + extra time, get movin’! ; )
