This #CHAARGSBFP we’re focusing on loving yourself, so what better way to practice self-love than taking yourself on a date? Whether it be dinner at your favorite restaurant, seeing that new chick flick, or a spa night, be your own Valentine this year + go on one of these solo dates —
1] GO FOR A HIKE
There are probably plenty of local or state parks + trails in your area waiting to be explored! Going for a hike alone can be one of the most rewarding things to do. You get to connect with nature + be alone with your thoughts + all the beautiful *life* around you.
2] EXPLORE YOUR CITY
There’s always something new to be explored + discovered in your home away from home. Go for a run through the city, bring your favorite book to a new coffee shop, head over to the farmer’s market — the city is your oyster ; ) ++ pick up some flowers while you’re at it!
3] GO TO THE MOVIE THEATER
Buy a ticket to that rom-com you’ve been dying to see, pick out your favorite candy, kick back ++ enjoy some free time to let those emotions flow [cry if ya need to, no one’s there to give you a hard time ; )]
4] SPA DAY
The best gift you could ever give yourself is a spa day [or night!]. A massage heals the body + soul, ++ it’s a great way to #reCHAARG in the middle of #SBFP! So give yourself some *me-time* + maybe splurge on some added aromatherapy.
5] LIVE MUSIC
If your favorite band is coming to town, girl, snag a ticket! Or maybe there’s a free concert somewhere downtown that you might enjoy. Regardless, don’t be intimidated by going to a concert by yourself. Your company is the best company, so dance like nobody’s business!
6] RELAXING BATH
Nothing beats a nice, warm bath at home. Pick out a pretty + yummy bath bomb or relaxing essential oils, light some candles + dim the lights, play some ambient music or your favorite Netflix series, ++ relaaaax.
7] COOK DINNER
Experimenting in the kitchen is always a fun time, especially by yourself with no limitations! Pick out a yummy new recipe you’d like to try + cook it all for yourself. Decorate the table with a candle + rose petals for extra ambience ; )
8] VOLUNTEER AT AN ANIMAL SHELTER
Let’s face it — puppies fix everything! Spending the day at an animal shelter will surely make Valentine’s Day the best day of the year. You can’t help but smile when you’re cuddling + playing with cute little puppies!
Spending time alone is liberating + empowering. Taking yourself on a date doesn’t need to be intimidating when you are *so* much fun! The best part is that the only itinerary you need to worry about is your own! No compromising. Embrace the spontaneity of doing whatever pleases you ++ treat yo’self this year to a Valentine’s date with wonderful, beautiful, brave, independent YOU! : )
