We all try to avoid a TV-binge, but sometimes it happens. While taking time to relax is important, you can also find small ways to be productive while watching TV! We’re giving you our favorite tips on how to maximize your TV-binge below —
CHAARG girls have plenty of gear to wash, dry, + fold. If you feel like you’ve been sitting on the couch for a while, pop in a load of laundry. On the way back to your show, find three things that need to be put away // hung up // organized. When it is time to switch the load to the dryer, find three more things that can be organized + one or two more on the way back to your comfy seat ; ) Once the dryer buzzes, start folding + put your clothes away when the folding is complete. In the span of 1.5 hours you have completed a load of laundry, organized 7 to 9 *things*, ++ have watched one [almost two] episodes of your favorite show!
2] PINTEREST WORKOUT
We love Pinterest — it is a great place to go for dream board inspiration or a good sweat sesh. If you’re about to have a serious TV-binge, chances are you are in comfortable clothes so why not sweat a little? Search for the show you’re about to watch + get ready for planks, jumping jacks, + squats. This is also a great way to get your workout in on a rainy or snowy day when motivation might be a bit lower.
3] MEAL PREP
If you’ve made your trip to the grocery store + you need to prep // cook food, turn on your favorite show + get to chopping. It is a great way to create noise in your apartment // house + keep your motivation going. You can take your laptop from cutting board to stove to slow cooker + never miss a beat from your movie. If you want to go the extra mile, binge on a food show to get motivation for your next prep!
4] WRITE A THANK YOU NOTE
If you’ve recently had a birthday, a holiday has passed, or you are simply thankful for someone take the time to write a thank you note *snail mail* style. Break out your stationery + find a way to put into words why you are thankful as your TV show plays in the background. If you aren’t sure who to start with, start with yourself. Write a note to open up when different events occur with words of encouragement or congratulations. You will keep yourself focused on your goals + spread happiness to those who receive your letter.
Yes — you can maximize your TV time by simply relaxing. Sometimes you need a good blanket, nice hot cup of tea, + a new story to take your mind off of things. If you want to make sure you are still learning + using your brain, pick a documentary around a new // interesting subject for you. Focus your full attention on learning more + look things up along the way. Take this time to do your nails, try a new face mask, or better yet make + apply a DIY Face Mask. Treat yourself to the at home spa day you deserve! There is nothing wrong with taking time for yourself + simply relaxing.
Whether you combine some of these tips or like to do something different, you can always maximize your TV-time. Don’t forget that it is OK to take time for yourself + relax. Let us know your favorite tips in the comments below or on Instagram!
