*Thought Power* is the idea that you can manifest the physical reality you want by altering your habitual thoughts. Essentially, if you think it, you can create it. As if you needed another excuse to ditch negative thinking — it can actually help steer you toward the life you truly want! You can’t train for a marathon if you believe that a 5K is your limit, + you’ll never get that handstand pose in yoga if you’re convinced you have no core or arm strength! Surely practice is an important part of achieving your goals [who else has been planking for those poses? ; ) ], but your beliefs // thoughts have a big part to play, too.
Instead of telling yourself that your FitGoals are too difficult // unattainable, work to convince yourself that everyday is a chance to take another step in the direction of your goals. If you are looking to train for a marathon one day, but you don’t have much of a history of running, start out by walking a mile or two everyday, + gradually build up to running. From there, increase how long or how far you run every week. It will take some time, but if you work hard + focus on the belief that you can run that marathon, you will get there — thinking negatively or convincing yourself that you can never run a marathon will only set you back in your progress toward your goal!
Outside of your FitGoals, you can harness the power of positive thinking to create the kind of everyday life you want. If your dream job is to become a teacher, but you listen to others telling you that it’s too difficult of a job market to get into, or you tell yourself that you’ll never get the job, you’ll end up following the path that those beliefs tell you you should be on — a path away from what you truly want to do! It’s always good to have a backup in case one path doesn’t pan out [+ if it doesn’t, that’s okay!] but don’t let self-doubt ++ fear convince you that you shouldn’t go for what you want. You have to work hard towards your goals with the consistent belief that you can + will achieve your goals.
