1] FRESH FRUITS + VEGGIES
If you’re craving something sweet, settle your sweet tooth with some fresh fruit. Fruit has natural sugars, ++ they are undeniably great for you. All you have to do is wash them + your snack is ready to go! Veggies are also great to always have around. They can be eaten either raw or cooked — that’s what makes them so great! If you’re looking for a quick snack, you can take out some raw carrots, celery, + broccoli, ++ dip them into some hummus. You can also throw your veggies in a pan with some olive oil, + let them cook in the oven. They can be included in any meal, anytime of the day. Stock your fridge up with fruits + veggies — they keep you glowin’!
Spinach is a versatile food that is filled with nutrients to keep ya healthy. Toss it in a bowl with some tomatoes + cucumbers, or make an whip up an omelette with spinach + feta cheese. You can even blend it up into your smoothies!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day — eat eggs to fuel up! They’re filled with protein + healthy fat, ++ only take minutes to cook. Don’t limit them to breakfast, though. You can hard boil them + put them in your salads, or make an egg sandwich for lunch. You can even make them for dinner if you’re looking for something quick to make. Let’s be honest — who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?!
Hummus is great for adding a boost of flavor to your food. You can dip your veggies in it, or use it as a spread in a sandwich. It’s also very easy to make from scratch [lemon garlic hummus, anyone?], so you can quickly whip some up whenever you’re running low.
5] GREEK YOGURT
Greek yogurt is a great source of calcium, potassium, zinc, + vitamins B6 + B12. It’s also filled with protein to help those muscles grow! Throw your fav toppings on top + enjoy it any way you like.
6] NUTS // SEEDS
Nuts + seeds are perfect for snacking, especially if you’re looking for something light. Since they’re high in fat + protein content, they’re one of the most filling snacks. You can also use them to garnish your salads.
7] FROZEN FRUIT
Frozen fruit is great to keep around because it doesn’t perish. If you love smoothies, use frozen fruit instead of using fresh fruit. It’s cheaper + you don’t risk wasting your money on fruit that may go bad later.
