We’ve been dealing with this *winter thing* for about 3 months now, + while snowfall is gorgeous + hitting the slopes is a nice change of pace for a sweat sesh, it’s safe to say we’re excited to move in to spring! Now that we’re seeing 2016 swim collections hitting our favorite stores + the days are longer, spring is definitely on our minds.
Even if temps aren’t *quite* up to spring standards, you can still begin replacing winter with a little bit of spring ; ). Here are 10 ways to feel + radiate those spring vibes as we start a season.
1] BREATHE IN FRESH AIR
Now that spring is on its way, the air is still crisp yet is beginning to feel + smell more like *spring* — fresh + rejuvenating. Breathe in fresh air daily for mental clarity + a natural energy boost.
2] DECORATE WITH COLORFUL FLOWERS
Nothing welcomes spring quite like fresh flowers. Just walking by the fresh flowers at the grocery store can give you a happiness boost. The bright colors + floral fragrance will definitely put a smile on your face ; ). Decorate your desk // kitchen table // bedroom with fresh flowers to bring those spring vibes inside.
3] CLEAN YOUR SPACE
Yep, it’s about that time to do some spring cleaning! While cleaning never sounds like the *funnest* of activities, it totally provides mental clarity — when your space looks + feels better, you feel better, too! ++ Don’t just stop at sweeping, mopping + dusting — re-organize your schedule, closet, + routine to feel refreshed going into this new season.
4] TAKE YOUR MEAL OUTDOORS
After months of living in below-freezing temps, days above 45 degrees begin to feel amazing — which is both sad + hilarious ; ). On those nearly 50-degree days with sunshine, take advantage of it by eating outdoors. You’ll start to feel reconnected with the Earth, + the sunshine will undoubtedly brighten your mood. Make sure to stay bundled up [+ maybe eat something hot ; )] so you don’t feel chilled.
5] PLANT AN HERB GARDEN
Fresh herbs awaken the senses + transform any meal // beverage from good to *ahh-mazing*. Plant an herb garden indoors // on a windowsill to welcome the taste + smell of freshness back into your life. Even better — gardening is a super relaxing activity + can alleviate stress.
6] BRING OUT THE PASTELS
Pastels are light + radiate such positivity — you can’t deny a good pastel color ; ) #TreatYoSelf to a few new pieces from your fav store to brighten up your wardrobe. Bonus points if you pick something with pineapples to pump you up for the #CHAARGSBFP ; ).
7] SWITCH UP YOUR MEALS
Avoid making your wintertime *go-to* meals [hearty, warm, cheesy goodness ; )] by switching things up + welcoming more refreshing + seasonally spring ingredients into your diet. We’re ready to welcome back smoothies, salads + tropical fruits // flavors into our lives, ++ can’t forget about those iced #CHAARGups ; ).
8] SOAK UP THE NATURAL LIGHT
One of the best things about spring is we start to see more + more daylight every day. Take advantage of every minute of it by sitting near a window, drawing the curtains // opening the blinds, + opening the windows. Let the sun shine in your space + mellow you out.
9] TAKE A MORNING WALK
Start the day off right — outdoors! After months of being confined to moving on the treadmill, covering *actual ground* is such a liberating feeling. Take as little as 15-20 minutes in the morning to walk outdoors to center yourself + mentally prepare for the day ahead. You’ll feel more calm + collected, we promise!
10] EAT // DRANK ALL THE FRUITS
Fruit might be one of the best pleasantries in life [next to a good #sweatsesh], ++ spring is the season for welcoming back some of our favorites, like strawberries, blueberries, + pineapple. Stock up on fruits you’ve missed the last few months, + enjoy them as snacks, on toast, or infused in water for a splash of spring.
