The perfect playlist can make or break your sweat sesh. When you need a little extra motivation to knock out an early morning #CHAARGFitPlan sweat sesh, cue Survivor by Destiny’s Child [RIP to the best girls group of all time]. If you need to reCHAARG + decompress with a quiet yoga session, slow paced acoustic tracks are the perfect accompaniment. But no matter the type of workout, the intensity, pace + length are all crucial components when determining what types of tracks you should choose when curating the perfect playlist.
// HIGH INTENSITY
Running, cycling + HIIT workouts require a lot of energy + focus. In return, your playlist should be fun + energizing to boost your mood, energy levels + focus. // YOGA + MEDITATION
After a week of exams, projects + papers, yoga is a great way to relax + flush your body of any negative vibes//stress. Jen Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Giselle + Beyoncé swear by daily mediation. Meditation + yoga requires tranquil calming music [i.e. John Mayer, Adele + Ed Sheeran] Meditation music should be instrumental [with no lyrics] that way you are able to calm your thoughts + mind. // CHECK OUT MY CURRENT FAV SONG HERE
What used to come to mind when thinking about weightlifting was a picture of meatheads listening to scream-o music in a Planet Fitness, but this is a new era in society + now I think of CHAARGies [#GirlBosses] walking right up to the weight rack + getting their sweat on. CHAARG girls can do anything + accomplish any sweat sesh they put their mind to, ++ the accompaniment of a killer playlist never fails to pump up a workout. For weightlifting, I suggest R&B [i.e. Usher, Chris Brown, Trey Songz] + Hip-Hop [Nikki Minaj, Drake, Fetty Wap] — the fast-paced beat gets your blood + energy flowing, allowing you to pump iron like the best of them! // CHECK OUT MY CURRENT FAV SONG HERE
// BODY WEIGHT
Pilates workouts target every part of your body by incorporating multiple postures + exercises throughout your workout. When you target different muscle groups the pace of the workout changes [i.e. transitioning from abdominals to gluts]. With all the changes your music should vary to keep your energy up throughout your sweat sesh. For Pilates, barre or any other body weight exercises I would suggest pop // mash-up music because it often varies between upbeat + a slower beat [i.e. Zedd, Calvin Harris, Avicii]. // CHECK OUT MY CURRENT FAV SONG HERE
Whether you are running a half-marathon, practicing your morning meditation, or killin’ your CHAARG FitPlan workout — music is everything! It’s always fun discovering fresh artists + types of music, but your sweat sesh playlist is just as great when filled with sing along throwbacks. When you channel your inner music guru + perfect your playlist based on your workout — you’ll feel energized ++ ready to push yourself on your path to becoming the happiest + healthiest version of you.
