When our alarms go off, we sometimes find ourselves wishing we could sleep in longer, stay in bed all day + ignore our many responsibilities. As great as this sounds, it can’t typically be done. We are #GirlBosses, after all ; ) While hitting snooze may seem like the better option after a crazy week, we’re here to show you that waking up early isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be — early morning wake-up calls deserve a much better rep!
1] YOU HAVE TIME TO GET A JUMP START ON YOUR DAY
We #CHAARGies know how to put in werk ; ) Waking up early allows for increased productivity + more time for you to get things done, no matter how big or small the tasks may be. If you want to start small, try setting your alarm 20-30 minutes earlier than usual. In this short time, you can eat breakfast, plan out your schedule, + begin your day feeling relaxed + ready to go. A few more minutes can make a huge difference in how you set yourself up for success.
2] YOU’LL HAVE MORE PEACE + QUIET
Mornings can be one of the most beautiful times of the day. Rain or shine, there’s a certain stillness in the morning that you can’t find anywhere else. If you’re used to waking up at noon, you’re waking up when everyone is already hustling + bustling. Waking up early allows you to have some quiet time for yourself before the *grind* begins.
3] IT GIVES YOU ENERGY BEFORE CLASS
For some of us, getting up means 20 minutes before our arrival time — we roll out of bed, throw our hair up + groggily head to our destination. If you wake up early, you’ll have time to actually shake yourself out of this sleepy state. Set an earlier alarm so you can grab some breakfast, jump in the shower + feel refreshed — not stressed! — as you head out the door.
4] IT HELPS YOU GET INTO A ROUTINE
If you’re waking up at 7 AM one day + 11 AM the next, your body won’t exactly have the schedule it needs to #reCHAARG. : ) Try waking up at the same time every day, so you begin to form a regular pattern. Being on a set schedule makes things easier + can help when it comes to dragging yourself out of bed in the early hours of the morning.
5] IT FEELS LIKE THERE ARE MORE HOURS IN THE DAY
When we wake up early, we feel like we have the entire day ahead of us. No time is wasted as we make a healthy breakfast + begin checking things off of our to-do list. When we wake up later, we feel as though most of the day has passed + we don’t have as much time to be productive. Besides, who wouldn’t want to wake up an hour earlier to live an hour longer?
6] YOU CAN JOIN THE #6AMCrew
Okay, you don’t have to workout at 6 AM to workout in the morning! No matter what time, an early morning #sweatsesh wakes you up + begins your day on a high note. You get your workout done before your mind even realizes what it’s doing + you’re on your way to conquer the rest of the day — right after a yummy breakfast.
7] YOU HAVE TIME TO MAKE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST
We all know the importance of early morning #eeeats! Sometimes when we hit snooze, it can be hard to find time to make a well-balanced breakfast. Waking up early allows for you to make yourself one of those trendy acai bowls that you never seem to have time for. Avocado toast, smoothies + eggs Benedict all make that early wake up call worth it : )
Your morning doesn’t have to be at a set a time, depending on when you are able to go to sleep + need to be functioning for the day. Your morning could begin with a 9 AM alarm, coffee, + journal in bed + still be infinitely better than a 10 AM snooze with you rushing out the door. Being a morning person is about perspective + being #inCHAARG of what ya got : )
