Professional presence is the image you project — your personal brand. This can be influenced by something as simple as your posture to how you present yourself in a meeting. While these are ever changing, it is important to keep them in the back of your mind as you go through your day. You can bring your unique personality to the workplace + still own your career with these important factors —
Your posture says a lot about your mindset. In a meeting — be attentive, sit up straight + make eye-contact with the speaker. At your desk, you can get a little more comfortable, but consider how it may appear to others. Some prefer to sit low + lean back, while others prefer to sip up straight. Both are OK, but know not to *slump* + let your comfort get the best of you[++ it is bad for your body anyway!]. Regardless, stay present + let your posture reflect that. Put your phone away + focus on what is in front of you.
CHAARG girls are fashionistas + #Fitionistas. There are so many trends for the workplace, however it is important to make sure you are dressing for your workspace. If you’re new, don’t try to push the limit, stay within the dresscode + set a good first impression. You can still express yourself — fun shoes ++ colorful shirts are some of our favs : ). Remember that your fashion is a reflection of you. Don’t be afraid to *break the mold* — express yourself! Just make sure you check the dress code first!
Radiate confidence –– always. Walk into a room + #ownit. A strong stride, bright smile, ++ *can-do* attitude shows that you are ready for anything. If you’re meeting new people, extend a friendly handshake ++ engage them throughout your presentation. Comfortable with all of the people in the room? Even better — show your spark + interest in your presentation. Confidence can be taken outside of the meeting room. Asking questions, backing up your work, + asking for more responsibility are all ways to show your confidence + increase your professional presence.
Professional presence is how you express + present yourself to your coworkers. We love seeing a CHAARG girl become #GirlBoss. Keep your *personal brand* in mind + you’ll be climbing the ranks in no time.
