Meditation provides us with an opportunity to take a moment out of the day to relax + remember to breathe now and then. Starting your day off with meditation can leave you feeling positive, refreshed, + ready to take on all the day has to offer —
POSITIVE MORNING VIBES
Whether you’re already a morning person or typically a night owl, meditation in the morning can leave you feeling positive + happy all day. By setting intentions + focusing on the day ahead, you are reminded to keep a positive mindset all day. Research shows that meditation can lead to happiness by increasing movement on the left side of the brain, which is responsible for positive emotions. Even though you may have to drag yourself out of a bed a little earlier to get in that quick meditation session, it will leave you radiant throughout the day.
Often times, we get lost in the space between who we are + who we want to be. It’s easy to become discouraged when we know we can achieve so much more, but we aren’t quite there yet. Meditation allows for a conversation with yourself in silence while zoning out external distractions. By having the time to focus on you + who you are // want to become, you are able to connect with yourself on a deeper level. You can become more mindful of your thoughts, feelings, + sense of identity.
When we experience stress, our bodies tend to experience the *fight or flight* adrenaline rush. We start to breathe faster + our blood pressure // heart rate increases — meditation reverse those actions through relaxation! By meditating regularly, you can train your body to remain calm during times of stress. The silence of meditation combined with deep breathing exercises can help keep your body relaxed to fight daily stress. Meditating once a day, for five to ten minutes, can reduce overall stress + have you living a happier, healthier lifestyle!
Research has found that meditation increases mindful thinking which can ultimately lead to healthier choices. Those who meditate tend to gravitate toward healthier choices such as eating more fresh foods + cutting back on the amount of unhealthy snacks they consumed. Not only does meditation leave you feeling ready to take on the day, but it also helps you continue to make healthy decisions.
From leaving you with those positive vibes to decreasing the stress we all feel from time to time, meditation is a perfect way to kick-start a relaxed, positive day!
