2017 is quickly approaching + there’s no better way to end this year than by spreading holiday cheer. ‘Tis the season to be thoughtful, grateful + giving. Try these 6 things next time you want to make someone’s day —
1] PAY IT FORWARD
Next time you’re at Starbucks, ask to pay for the person behind you. If you want to go all out, leave the cashier with $20 or so + ask them to pay for customers until that cash runs out. Small surprises can always turn someone’s day around. You’ll leave more than one person with a smile on their face : )
2] BAKE HOLIDAY TREATS
Grab some friends + bake the day away with your fave festive goodies. You’ll not only have fun making [+ eating!] them, but you’ll be spreading some holiday cheer by sharing them. From family to friends to neighbors, this is a simple + thoughtful way to put a smile on someone’s face.
3] LEAVE A NICE TIP
The holidays are an extremely busy time at restaurants. If your delivery driver drove through a snowstorm to bring your pizza, make sure to leave a generous tip. Be mindful of how others are helping you + make sure to show them how much you appreciate it.
4] DONATE TO CHARITY
From Adopt a Family, to Toys for Tots, there are plenty of places that could use your donation. If you’re low on cash, you can always give your time instead. Plenty of shelters + hospitals could use the extra help — especially if it comes with some extra positive vibes : )
5] INVITE SOMEONE OVER FOR DINNER
Too many people are alone during the holidays. Whether it’s a coworker or a classmate, someone in your life could probably use a nice dinner + a fun night spent with friends. Open your house//apartment to others + let them know that you’re there if they need a safe place. Crank up the Christmas music, get out grandma’s stuffing recipe + make a home-cooked meal your guests will never forget.
6] SEND A HANDWRITTEN LETTER OR CARD
Sure, those store-made cards are cute, but handwritten notes require more thought + are more sincere. If there’s someone you’re extra grateful for, show them your appreciation in a letter. If there’s someone you haven’t spoken to in weeks, months, or even years, check-in on them with a homemade card. Feel free to print + use these CHAARGmas cards to radiate positive vibes with your friends, family, colleagues, + role models!
There’s no better time than the holidays to spread a little extra love. Take some time to realize how lucky you are + show your family, friends + even strangers the true meaning of the holiday season : )
