FitGoal: I would like to tone up + to be able to improve my cholesterol levels especially since they have been high for the past 9 months. I would also like to gear away from weighing myself + not worry about the number on the scale but about how I feel with my body. This health issue caused me to have to end my winter break trip early because I was sick in Mexico. At the time I was not aware of this health problem and would have enjoyed the rest of my trip if I had taken better care of my body.
// THE MOMENT //
The moment you knew you wanted to start a CHAARG chapter at your university… was when a friend of mine shared her story with me that I could relate to. I had lost my passion for running + even quit the track team at UIC my first semester of college. Even worse, I stopped going to the gym and started getting into a routine of just going to class, doing homework, + sleeping. That’s it. But my friend, DePaul’s very own ambassador Carina Coss, had me take a look at all of CHAARG’s social media pages + even brought me down to join her for some aerial in Lincoln Park. It was THAT very day, when I saw the bond between all the girls that I KNEW I wanted to start a chapter at UIC.
My passion for health + fitness was ignited when… I no longer found pleasure in running competitively for my collegiate team after having ran competitively in high school. I also encountered some health problems in the last year which I knew I could do something about + that I could prevent from getting worse. After going a few months without dedicating myself to working out like I was used to I, I had the urge to REALLY get fit + more serious about taking care of my body [after all, you only get one].
// EAT //
Favorite Meal… Fettucini Alfredo with grilled chicken [can’t forget the chicken!!]
Favorite Indulgence… Insomnia Cookies with a pint of vanilla ice cream
// SWEAT //
If you could work out with anyone dead or alive, what workout would you do + who would you work out with? I would do 400 meter repeats with Olympic medalist, Sanya Richards Ross.
A song that gets me pumped to take on a #sweatsesh is… No Role Modelz or anything by J. Cole/Chance the Rapper/Childish Gambino [Can’t decide, I LOVE music]
// INSPIRE //
My passion is… helping others. Nothing more to it than that. I have volunteered hundreds of hours to non-profit organizations in order to feed the homeless, pack food to send overseas, fill out hundreds of forms at citizenship workshops, paint a mural for a women’s shelter + so much more. I simply want to devote my life to helping others.
I am #inCHAARG because… I like to help people in any way that I possibly can + CHAARG allows me to help girls find their fit and help them be comfortable in their own bodies. Personally, having dealt with issues regarding my body, I would never want to see anyone give into stereotypes or have to deal with being criticized.

3 words to describe you are… Loving, Caring + Happy
Fun Fact… Two of my toes are stuck together + it runs in my dad’s side of the family.
