You may be trying to have your best summer yet, but balancing both sweat seshes + your social life can be tricky! CHAARG is all about changing attitudes about health + fitness, especially with our fav people. Your friends don’t have to be avid gym-goers for you to work out with them! We’re helping to bring the fun side of fitness to everyone this summer, both in + out of the gym, so you can spend time with the people you love + still get in a good sweat —
Try going outside your normal limits + research some parks//hiking trails near you, or even a few hours away if you’re looking for a fun day trip! Get a group, pack a bag with healthy snacks + lotsa water, ++ get ta exploring! Walking around can work up a sweat without even realizing it, especially with hills. You + your friends could even bring along some lunch + stop somewhere for a picnic — nothing bonds a group together more than good company, yummy food, ++ beautiful outdoor views! : )
Dancing doesn’t have to be choreographed to be fun! You + your friends could take a Zumba class, hit up a local dance festival, or dance around your living room. Whatever works for your group + gets everyone up, moving, ++ having fun!
3] MAKE IT COMPETITIVE
A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. ; ) You can get outside with a group of friends + play a game while getting a sweat sesh in, such as sand volleyball or softball. They don’t have to be traditional workouts — get creative + have fun with it!
4] SWEAT WHILE WATCHING TV
Sometimes, you may not feel like going out for a workout + are looking to spend a night in. If you + your friends have a show that you all watch together, try searching the internet for workouts that you can do while watching the show [try this FRIENDS inspired workout!]. Whether you love a good sitcom or enjoy dramatic thrillers, workouts that play on the themes of TV shows will keep you all up + moving during your TV time instead of sitting on the couch! : )
It’s definitely more fun to have a group to sweat with + cheer you on along the way. But not everyone has to be *into-fitness* in order to get a few workouts in this summer. You can stay active + moving without picking up a single weight, ++ still have fun + spend time with your friends this summer!
Weights aren’t always out of the question, though. Try inviting some friends to do the CHAARG BootyCamp with you + maybe we will have a few more CHAARGies joining us in the fall! ; )
