We all have a light inside of us — a *spark* that makes us unique + beautiful, allowing us to be mindful of our feelings, thoughts, + actions. Although it can be difficult to find that inner light + share it with others, it’s possible when we make it a priority each day to put forth the best version of ourselves : ) CHAARG girls are all about empowering each other, + by embracing the light inside each of us, we’re able to live happier + more positive lives, while influencing those around us. Read on for ways to let yo’ inner light shine —
Take a few minutes each day to sit in silence + focus on the present. Pick a quiet room in your home to begin your practice + make the space peaceful by dimming the lights or lighting a scented candle. Begin your practice by sitting comfortably, closing your eyes, + focusing on your breathe. Allow your mind to relax + forget about your troubles. By doing so, you’ll be able to find peace within yourself + radiate positive vibes.
2] FIND YOUR PURPOSE + FOLLOW IT
Many of us are afraid of doing what we truly want in life because we fear failure or judgment. Instead of waiting for change to happen, turn those fears into actions + take initiative of your life. Stuck at a job you hate? Quit + find one that fulfills + energizes you. If you’re studying something you are not passionate about, change your major + embrace your true purpose. We get so much more out of life when we follow the path we choose. So don’t hold yourself back — your dreams are reachable, you just have to take the first leap.
3] FOCUS ON WHAT’S IN FRONT OF YOU
Be present in every situation by really listening to people when they speak. Turn your phone off + avoid multitasking. Look around to embrace your surroundings [you might even make a new friend or two ; )]. You’ll find inner peace by focusing on the things that are in front of you + stop worrying about all the rest.
Embracing your *inner light* is such a refreshing feeling. It allows you to understand your place in this world + the importance of spreading your love + light to those that surround you. You can use your inner light to make others feel great + there are many easy ways to do so–
1] COMPLIMENT OTHERS
Complimenting people makes them feel good about themselves. Make it your goal to complement at least 1 person every day. Knowing you were able to make someone smile because of your compliment is an ah-mazing feeling!
Shine your light on those less fortunate than you. There are many people that are struggling in this world, + it’s important to help others, especially when they cannot help themselves. Volunteer at a soup kitchen, organize a #CHAARG-themed drive at your school for local homeless // women’s shelters, or become a tutor + inspire the next generation of influencers. Even the smallest act of service can make a huge impact on someone’s life [++ you’ll feel great doing it].
Smile to everyone — friends, family, classmates, the barista at your fave coffee shop, or a stranger passing by. Although you may not realize it, a simple smile can make someone’s day a thousand times better. A smile truly goes a long way : )
