Three weeks down, two to go, + some of us may be reaching a point where we have scheduled that hour for our workout, but we’re tired or have too much homework, so we end up not finishing the workout. The first three weeks have been a challenge, but we want to keep pushing through + finish the next two weeks strong. When you find yourself thinking of what you should be doing, keep these five thoughts in mind to help you turn that *I should* into an *I did!* —
ENVISION THE *AFTER*
It can be difficult to imagine the “after” of what you should do when you’re staring exhaustion + overwhelming stress in the face. When you find yourself thinking of an *I should,* however, it’s important to envision what will happen after you’ve completed whatever it is you should do. Remember how accomplished you felt after you finished leg day at the gym? Keep that positive feeling in your mind when you feel like you have no motivation to head to the gym + complete a Wednesday FitPlan workout! Keeping your eye on the *after* can help you overcome the motivation loss + finish what you need to!
When we try to jump head-first into anything, it can become overwhelming + could discourage us. Accomplishing even one step towards your goal can help motivate you to keep going. Laying out your outfit for the gym the next morning or finishing one small assignment can take some of the pressure off of what you are aiming to accomplish, making it easier to finish. Starting small is a great way to work towards your ultimate goal without feeling intimidated.
MOTIVATION IS KEY
Find whatever motivates you most + bring that into your life every day. Whether it be a killer playlist or a cute headband that leaves you feeling confident + ready for your day, motivation is what will help you overcome your *should.* Maybe grab a buddy who can help motivate you + keep you accountable! Sharing your goal with the CHAARG community can also keep you accountable + allow you to watch your progress! Finding what motivates you to get up + go out is a key part of turning your *I should*s into *I did*s!
CELEBRATE YOUR VICTORIES
Celebrating your accomplishments is vital when it comes to the line between *should* + *did.* Make sure to take time to revel in the feeling of accomplishing whatever it may be that you knew you should do! Stepping back + allowing yourself to appreciate what you’ve accomplished can also help you accomplish more. You’ll want to keep feeling that motivation + sense of pride once you see what’ve managed to do, so you may go out + keep turning those *I should*s into *I did*s!
Remember to start small + find that motivation! We challenge all of you to go out + accomplish one of your *I should*s during this SBFP. Make sure you share your victory on instagram with #CHAARGSBFP.
