Living constantly on-the-go can make it hard to remember to eat, much less cook. It’s easy to order in or dine out, but this summer, one of our #CHAARGBootyCamp goals is conquering all of the amazing recipes included. If you’re looking for reasons to ditch take-out, we’re sharing some of our favorite motivations to whip up some homemade meals —
1] MO’ MONEY
The price of eating-out quickly adds up! The cost of the average homemade meal is much less than a meal at a restaurant. By making our meals at home, we get more for our money. Grocery shopping ++ meal-prepping are key to saving some cash.
2] HEALTHIER EATS
Cooking at home allows you to choose the ingredients in the food you’re eating — which means that you have a chance to include all your favorite superfoods! Even though you’ll be paying less, the quality ingredients you’re using will provide many vitamins, minerals, protein, ++ probiotics. With endless ways to prepare your food, you can modify any recipe to your liking [++ always add more of your favorite ingredients!].
3] ECO-FRIENDLY CHOICES
Restaurants produce large amounts of food waste ++ require A LOT of fuel to transport all of their ingredients ++ paper products. By cooking at home, you are making a *green* choice ++ helping save natural resources. To be even greener, try taking a trip to your local farmer’s market!
4] QUALITY TIME
Whether you are home for the summer or living with roommates, eating together is more fun! Taking the time to bond over a meal with loved ones can increase your mood ++ help you savor meal time. Plus, sharing a meal can also mean cooking together. ; )
5] COOKING SKILLS
Making our own meals is truly a skill. Cooking is not always easy, but taking some time to practice will make you an even better chef. The more you eat in, the more practice you’ll have, ++ the more delicious your recipes will be. Bring on the creative combos!
Eating at home is not always easy, but realizing its many benefits will help you reach your *foodie* goals this summer! Make sure to share your homemade recipes by tagging #CHAARGEats on Insta. <3
