It’s #TrainingTues ++ it’s been just over 2 weeks since CHAARG RAN DC. Time is flying by + I’m just not sure how I feel about it! We had such an awesome time together at the Nike Women’s Half Marathon weekend extravaganza! It’s so crazy that hardly any of us knew each other when we all arrived, yet we instantly bonded + became best friends by the end of the trip. Guess that’s CHAARG girls for ya ; ) We are already making plans to run another race together [Diva Half Marathon with wine, champagne + flowers at the end — I think yes!] Of course all CHAARG girls are welcome!
I’m still smiling from that weekend. I had talked about doing the Nike Women’s Half for about a year now — when I found out it was a reality that I could do not only run it, but bring CHAARG girls with me I literally screamed with excitement [huge thanks to Sarah Lowe + Nike!] This whole process has been so amazing. From the start of the #runCHAARG campaign until now. I cannot wait to do another race with the CHAARG girls — I wonder which one it will be : )
I’ll be sharing a longer recap once the pictures are done [so excited to see them, Renee is the best!] — but until then, read about everyone’s thoughts on race weekend!
I have always dreamed about in running a Nike Women’s race. Just the idea of thousands of strong women coming together to reach their goals is an incredible thing [like CHAARG. ; )] ++ I am so extremely grateful to be a part of this event — not to mention the CHAARG community. My favorite part [+ I am sure everyone can agree] was meeting all of the other girls #inCHAARG across the country. There’s not many bonds like the one with your fellow fitfam — am I right?! #CHAARGon
This was my first half marathon ever so I had no idea what to expect + I was so nervous, but being with an awesome group of girls was what pushed me through to the finish. I loved the atmosphere of race day with all the runners, cheering fans with their creative signs + all the music, bands + especially the DC monuments. I am so blessed + thankful that I received this opportunity to meet such beautiful + inspiring CHAARG women + to get the chance to run the Nike Women’s Half. My favorite part was probably running across the finish line + seeing how happy everyone was, + especially receiving that little blue box!
My favorite part of race day was crossing the line with muh CHAARG girls at my side! I honestly wouldn’t have made it across the line with them without Moeller motioning for me to get my buttt up with her!
I had the most amazing weekend! My favorite part was pushing myself with Eve during the race. I knew she was in pain during the run + to see her push through that gave me the energy + desire to keep going. All the girls were beautiful + inspiring in their own way + I felt so blessed to be able to meet them all!
The half was absolutely amazing + nothing could beat the post run haze of accomplishment. I’ll never forget my first half + couldn’t have asked for a better or more inspiring group of girls to run with. Thank you to everyone who made the weekend possible. I’ll be rocking my #CHAARGrunsDC shirt in Europe — gotta represent!
RACE DAY! So many emotions + feelings are wrapped up in just two words. The Nike Women’s Half Marathon was truly one of a kind. From the start of the race to hours after the event, you couldn’t help but smile. There was inspiration everywhere you turned. Running with my CHAARG girls was the cherry on top! I couldn’t imagine a better half marathon experience. It was truly one for the books : )
#CHAARGrunsDC was better than I could have ever pictured it. The crowd, the atmosphere — everything was just so energizing. I’ve never run a race that large, + now I can’t wait to run one again. You have people cheering you along every step of the way, which encourages you to go faster + further. The best cheerleaders, though, were definitely my fellow CHAARG girls. As a virtual member, having the opportunity to actually meet girls who shared the same passion for health + fitness was more than I could I have bargained for.
This race will definitely go down as one of my favorite races + favorite weekends with my CHAARG girls. There’s an excitement about half marathons that are indescribable — whether you’ve done one or 20, you will still feel those butterflies. Add the strongest + beautiful girls in the world running by your side, ++ you are bound to be flying high [I swear I was so excited the whole time that I didn’t feel anything until mile 11 — then it started to hurt ; ) ahaha]. Also, running in cute CHAARGified FitGear was definitely a cherry on top : ) We crossed the finish line like the FITionistas that we are!
No race compares to the NMH, especially when you combine it with some of the most inspiring, kind-hearted + motivating women that are the CHAARG girls. Nike really went the extra mile with the “little details” (Luna bars, CLIF shot bloks, Nuun… even chocolate!) + the course was absolutely beautiful. I’m attributing my new PR to all the good vibes that were floatin’ around. If you have a chance to run this race — DO IT! Even better, bring along some friends. I couldn’t of done it without the other CHAARG girls! [Read Marissa’s race recap here on her personal blog!]
Wow where to begin! I don’t think I could have had a better first half marathon experience. All the CHAARG girls were so great + so supportive. It was a big relief that other girls were just as nervous about being ready to run the race as I was. I was quickly put at ease + just enjoyed my time in DC. The race was AMAZING! Running in a new city was so much fun. Not only did you get to break up the monotony of a LONG run but it was also a great way to explore a new place. The energy of the crowd was so infectious. It just kept pushing you to keep moving + finish [the Tiffany necklace at the end also helped a little : ) ]Great race. Great people. Great times. EVERYONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF RUNNING A HALF MARATHON!
