Goals are the oxygen to our dreams — they keep us going, give us purpose, + help us find what we truly want in life. Reaching our goals is something we all aspire to do, whether social, academic, professional, or fitness-related. But, sometimes we fail. Sometimes we try our hardest + the outcome is not what we expect. That’s okay — it’s a part of life. When we’re able to bounce back from our failures, it shapes us + makes us who we are. We should never lose sight of our goals, even when it gets hard.
1] FIND THE VALUE IN FAILURE
Failure can be a good thing if you find the value in it + embrace it. Take your failure + build yourself up to be even stronger. Use failure as your motivation because it will help you succeed in the long run — *failure is the opportunity to begin again more intellectually.*
2] FOCUS ON THE PROCESS
When you don’t reach your goals, it’s easy to focus on what went wrong, but you shouldn’t dwell on the past or overthink all the things you messed up on. Focus on the process as a whole instead of the result. Try to figure out what went wrong during your journey + work on trying to fix that. Additionally, don’t be afraid to try something new — *be stubborn about your goals + flexible about your methods.*
3] SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
You might be upset after you fail, which makes it hard to bounce back when you’re down. It’s important to have positive people around you that support you + brighten your mood. Plan a GNO or stay in and watch movies — just find something fun to do with the people you love.
4] SET NEW GOALS
Sometimes, we put too much pressure on ourselves to be *perfect* — after all, we CHAARG girls are #goaldiggers. It’s so important to set goals and challenges for ourselves, but like we mentioned earlier, we need to look at the process, not just the outcome. Create a bunch of *mini* goals that lead up to your main goal. These will take a lot of pressure off of you + make your goals seem more attainable. When you reach these mini goals, make sure you #treatyoself + celebrate! Don’t let your successes — even minor ones — go unnoticed!
5] WRITE IT DOWN
Keep track of your progress in a journal — not only will this keep you accountable, but you can also go back and see what you can improve on. You can also make a schedule to make sure you leave time to work towards your goal every day.
6] KEEP TRYING
No matter how many times you might fail, don’t give up. You already put forth so much of your time + energy, + it will all go to waste if you stop trying. Reaching your goals is not something that should be easy — you might fail, but the real success comes when you’ve failed multiple times and kept going.
Make sure you always reach for your goals [especially your #FitGoals during the CHAARG FitPlan ; )], no matter how hard it might be. But if you’re struggling + start feeling down, just remember you’ve got thousands of CHAARG girls to look to for support. Crush them goals girls —
We believe in you!
