Who’s gearin’ up for the year? I know I am. Since joining CHAARG, I’ve been setting more + larger FitGoals that I want to achieve. One of my goals = make the most out of every workout. I’m a firm believer that finding the perfect gear to help me through my workouts has truly made all the difference.
Here are four of our favorite *techy* equipment that will push you to move + conquer those daily sweat seshes.
//NIKE+ FUELBAND SE
You know your boyfriend really gets you when this is his idea of an awesome anniversary gift ; ) This is by far my favorite teched-out gear. The Nike+ FuelBand is created for the purpose of tracking everyday movement — it tracks steps, cals burned, Nike Fuel burned, + even how many hours of the day you’ve been active.
What I love most about the Nike+ FuelBand is that it also tracks workouts. By logging sessions, I can monitor steps//cals//Nike Fuel for my runs, cross-training workouts, lifts, walks to + from class, ++ it even tracks my sleeping patterns! I can keep track of this easily on my phone through the Nike+ Fuelband App. Plus, the Nike Fuel burned through my FuelBand connects with my Nike+ account through the Nike Running App!
You should grab this if… you’re looking for a way to set daily goals for yourself + want to keep track of how much you’re really moving throughout your day [+ how much you should be fueling up on good #CHAARGeats]. As you progress through the weeks + earn more Fuel, you’re awarded trophies! If you’re looking for motivation, the FuelBand sends out reminders ; )
The Jawbone + FitBit are both fitness trackers like the FuelBand, but are a lil’ different of course. It keeps track of your sleep and cals burned just like Nike’s product, but doesn’t allow you to track specific workouts + compare them to other users. What they CAN do is track the quality of your sleep + wakes you silently in the morning//measure the distance you crawl, walk, run, or sprint each day. The Jawbone + FitBit also link wirelessly to keep track of your progress, but you also have access to more graphs + charts to measure your access in real time than you would with the FuelBand!
What’s good about all of these fitness trackers is they come in all different colors//styles to pair with our #FITionista styles [obsessed with the Jawbone in mint green + the new FitBit is called Charge — ah!] You can purchase multiple colors of the FitBit + switch out whenever you wish!
*You should grab either of these if… you’re looking for a more extensive fitness tracker that monitors your everyday moves through extensive tools//databases + the quality of your sleep! Both of these also have longer battery lives than the FuelBand, but the FuelBand lets you closely monitor your battery level at any time.
Can you tell what my favorite brand is yet? ; ) Nike’s always been my go-to for everything in my fitness lifestyle. After losing my running watch a few years ago + just letting my runs be what they were going to be for a while, I knew I needed to find a way to #takeCHAARG + get back into the groove of improving myself. Not everyone is a *running watch* type, but I knew I was + I knew finding the Nike+ SportWatch GPS was going to help challenge me during my runs.
Not only does my SportWatch link right into my Nike+ account//Running App, but it also has a built in GPS to track how far I’m going — even if I’m off-trail! It allows me to toggle through my current pace, average pace, distance,+ time throughout +after my runs. It even has an option to pause your run when your shoe unties or the light on the corner that always takes forever turns red. It comes with a shoe pod in the package to sync for those indoor track runs. Based on gender//weight//height, the SportWatch calculates cals + Fuel burned during each run + keeps track of your best//longest runs!
*You should grab this if... you’re looking for a reliable running watch to keep you on track more than the Nike Running App can do//want to really improve yourself as a runner.
Although these watches come in all different shapes + sizes + styles, the greatest benefit of the Polar Watch//Heart Rate Monitor combo is that it’s extremely accurate. Before you can use it you need to plug in your weight, age, + height — then it takes your resting heart rate! Your resting heart rate is used as the base to measure your intensity levels throughout your workouts. You can’t cheat your workouts with the Polar Watch ; )
The Polar Watch is the most reliable way to track calories burned during your workout since it syncs up to your heart monitor. Not to mention, you can swim in some of these! For those wondering if the heart rate monitor is comfortable — I promise, you cannot even feel it when you are working out.
*You should grab this if… you’re looking to closely monitor your workouts — measuring your intensity + calories! Knowing your heart rate puts a twist on every workout. It will keep you more accountable + in tune with your body — leading to a much more focused workout. This is a great watch to pair with workouts at the gym or bodyweight workouts.
