Valentine’s Day is a day that’s filled with love + showing the special people in our lives how much we care for them. However, many of us forget to express the same amount of love for the most important person in our lives — ourselves.
This year, why not make Valentine’s Day about showing yourself some love + appreciation? You [like many others] are probably thinking that self-love is selfish, but you deserve a break to celebrate your own accomplishments — if you don’t take care of yo’self first, then who will? Being selfish is defined as *lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one’s own personal profit or pleasure* — but by developing a true sense of self-love + learning when to put yourself first, you will be able to radiate those positive vibes to all aspects of your life, which benefits others + yourself! When you love yourself, you are able to lead a happier + more successful life, which will help you to better love those around you <3
It’s important to practice self-love everyday, but we encourage you to make this Valentine’s Day especially about *you.* Stop comparing yourself to others. Find your inner beauty + embrace it. Recognize that you are [+ always will be] beautiful. Buy yourself chocolate or flowers. Write yourself a love letter including all the things you love most about yourself, imperfections + all. Take yourself out to dinner, or draw a bath + drink a glass wine while doing so [if you’re of age, of course!]. Read a book in a coffee shop. Do something you love, no matter what that may be. Valentine’s Day is a day full of love + that includes loving yourself.
Spread some love to all those around you this Valentine’s Day, but don’t forget that YOU are the most important person in your life.
*You owe yourself the love that you so freely give to others.*
