As the New Year rolls around, many people set resolutions but have trouble sticking with them. Luckily, we have some tips to help you stick with your resolutions this year. Let’s make 2017 the best year yet!
1] START SMALL
While creating your resolutions, it’s important to note that progress takes time. You aren’t going to be able to accomplish all that you plan to in a matter of days ++ this can be discouraging. To make things easier, try picking resolutions that are small + manageable to reach. As you accomplish your small goals, you can start to expand + set more difficult goals. If you start off with a difficult + unrealistic goal, it’s more likely that you won’t be able to stick with it.
2] MAKE A PLAN
Write down your resolutions + how you plan on succeeding. Writing things down will help you stick to your resolutions, ++ when you’re feeling unmotivated, it will remind you why chose them. You can also make sure you plan in time in your daily schedule to work towards them every day.
3] PLAN REWARDS
Every so often, make sure you #treatyoself + show yourself some love! Whether you treat yourself to a dessert or getting your nails done, rewarding yourself will keep you motivated to keep working towards your resolutions. Be proud of all that you’ve accomplished, every step of the way!
4] ACCEPT FAILURE
Sometimes, things don’t always go the way you want them to, but that’s okay. Failures happen so you should plan on them to help you overcome them. Working hard to reach your goals is a journey + you’re inevitably going to encounter a few bumps — but, learning to accept failures is a success in itself.
5] DO IT WITH A FRIEND
Having a friend to keep you accountable is a great way to make sure you stay on track with your resolutions. It’s also great having someone to support you + work towards your goals with you. Don’t run it alone — grab a friend + crush your goals!
We love hearing about your goals + seeing you all work towards them. Keep these tips in mind while setting your New Year’s resolutions + always stay positive. You have a whole community of girls rooting for you — we believe in you!
