We already knew Cameron Diaz was totally #inCHAARG – The Body Book proves that she is the ultimate *girl’s girl. * In her first book of two, The Body Book encourages women of all ages to educate ourselves on every aspect of our bodies – our nutrition, fitness + mindfulness. Because being our happiest//healthiest self isn’t only about our sweat sesh – it’s about caring for ourselves on a deeper level. If you haven’t read The Body Book, it’s a must-read if you’re interested in deepening your self-love + refreshing your mind. Below are a few ways we can definitely relate to Cameron D’s The Body Book —
1] EMPOWERED WOMEN, EMPOWER WOMEN
Friendships are about quality, not quantity according to Cameron D ++ we could agree more. Having the support of genuine, inspiring, motivating CHAARGies is a precious gift we possess by being apart of this deeply impactful community. We are bound to know ourselves better when we have a core collection of #GirlBoss friends constantly surrounding us.
2] WE VALUE EVERY ASPECT OF OUR HEALTH – MIND + BODY
Your body is the only body you will ever have. It reflects all of *the efforts you have ever made to understand it + take care of it. * How well you care for your body [all aspects of it] will determine the quality of how well you’ll live. Your body is truly amazing. Cater to all that your mind + body asks of you because there is something special about nourishing yourself with good food, good sweat + mindfulness.
3] H2O IS OUR BFF
Water is much more powerful than we all lead to believe – ¾ of the Earth is water, which is pretty *cRaZy. * A glass of H2O in the morning is a big wake up call to the body. It kick-starts your digestive system, rejuvenates your skin ++ keeps you feeling fresh throughout the day [if you keep drinking it all day that is]. If you aren’t water’s biggest fan, try mixing it up with fruit infusion – you’ll get nutrients from the fruit + your H2O will taste delish.
4] OUR BODIES WANT TO BE STRONG
You are strong + capable, so that you can inspire others to be strong + capable. Your body wants to be as strong as you want it to be. In this context you define *strong* — this can be physically//mentally//emotionally. It’s human instinct to be powerful, robust + constantly moving. Challenge your mind to allow your body to be strong – take the stairs, walk to work, run the extra distance. Strength is beauty + life is all about movement.
5] THE WAY WE LIVE NOW AFFECTS THE WAY WE AGE LATER
Washing your makeup off after a night out, getting enough rest each night, or eating healthily in your 20’s might seem like small tasks that are only for the *now,* but in reality they build up + determine the way we age later on in life. For example, wearing sunscreen on your face everyday will help prevent age-spots, slow down the development of wrinkles + potentially decrease the likelihood of developing skin cancer. Taking care of your young 20 something body will only increase your quality of life later on.
6] BEING OUR HAPPIEST//HEALTHIEST SELVES ISN’T JUST FOR THE NOW, BUT IS ABOUT LONGEVITY
Longevity, Cameron D’s sequel to The Body Book [++ also a must read], is a deeper look into the aging female body. Finding your happiest//healthiest self now will aid us in maintaining our best selves throughout our lives, thus creating longevity. The small [sometimes daunting] daily tasks of wearing sunscreen, getting a sweat sesh in + eating nourishing foods our bodies crave are easy ways to help your mind + body age gracefully. Putting in the *work* in our 20’s will only increase our longevity.
As you can tell Cameron D is a much deeper version of a *girl’s girl* — she is straight up #inCHAARG. If you haven’t dove into The Body Book yet, put it on your summer reading list ++ always remember *you are more beautiful than you have ever imagined* — Cameron Diaz, The Body Book
