With the the warm weather calling you outside + the finish line to finals in sight, it’s tough to stay motivated! The appeal of cracking open that textbook or sorting through your emails has suddenly become lesser. Whether it’s the motivation to study a lil’ harder, edit your resume, or look for a killer internship//job [speaking of which… why not apply to be a CHAARGtern!? ; ) ] — a little inspiration can go a long way! We’re bringing you a few tips to help you find your fire + stay inspired!
1] HEAD TO THE CHAARG BLOG
Take a couple minutes to sit down + read something that isn’t assigned. There’s an entire page dedicated to inspiration + with a few quick reads, we promise you’ll be feeling refreshed!
2] LACE UP THOSE SHOES + HEAD OUTSIDE
Exercise is famous for being a great mood-booster, but adding in some sunshine + fresh air is an extra bonus! Go for a quick run [try our RunCHAARG Fartlek workout] or roll out your mat + try an outdoor yoga session!
3] TAKE A BREAK TO BREATHE + BEGIN AGAIN
If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or even completely burnt out at the moment — you should understand that it happens + it’s okay!! Take a step back + think about why you’re feeling this way. Are you in a field you’re passionate about, but still lacking inspiration? Take a break + give yourself a chance to clear your mind. Devote sometime to yourself + you’ll be back with motivation + inspiration in no time! Are you in a field you’re not so passionate about [or maybe even *hate*] + feeling overstressed? You might be in need of a change. Changing something like your major or your career is no small task + isn’t always possible at the very moment. In the meantime, you can work on a smaller a change — shifting your mindset can get you a long way in beating the motivational blahs! Try approaching the situation as an opportunity you’ll be able to learn + grow from until you can make that larger life change!
4] TAKE AN ELECTRONIC FREE BREAK
This one sounds simple, but silencing the ever-present ding of your phone + laptop + TV is no easy task! Turning off the electronics for a few minutes will give you a chance to be present in the moment. Making the time to connect with yourself can give you a huge inspiration boost! If you’re the type of girl who has to be doing *something* all the time, check out our intro to meditation!
5] CHAT WITH A FRIEND
Call up one of your CHAARG girls for a partner workout, go for a quick lunch date, or even pick up the phone + give someone a ring. Talking to someone who lifts you up is a great way to get out of the *I don’t want to’s* + into your positive inspiration zone!
6] PICK UP A PEN + GET CREATIVE
This is my go-to in beating a motivational lag! Whether is doodling, writing in your journal or getting crafty — allow yourself to create something simply for fun of doing it! With school + work piling up during these last few weeks — it’s important to allow yourself time to do something that isn’t *assigned*! Let your creative energy shine + spend some time with your hobbies!
