To some degree, we have all dealt with low self-confidence. What truly defines us, however, is what actions we take to fight against these negative thoughts. With a small effort every day, you can learn to own your own confidence + be a *contagiously confident girl* —
1] MAKE A STATEMENT
Step out of your comfort zone + be ultra bold — adding something as simple as your favorite hat, necklace, or nail color to your daily look can make you feel daring. If you have a loud statement piece that you’ve always adored, but have been too scared to wear out — this is your sign to ROCK it. When you’re feeling good about yourself, that confidence will radiate to others around you!
Smiling is truly the best accessory a girl could wear. When you’re smiling, you’re instantly approachable + perceived as reliable, friendly, ++ relaxed. Even more so, you’ll trick your own body into thinking you’re happy [even if you’re not] through feel-good endorphins that get released from the brain. Who’s more attractive — someone who’s smiling + laughing, or someone who isn’t?
3] ADJUST YOUR POSTURE
Keeping your head held high when you walk into a room communicates a lot to others — so make sure to let them know that you’re cool, confident, + ready to take on life. Those rows + supermans at the gym can help your posture + keep your back straight, which will help you exude confidence. Maintaining good posture is great for a mental mindset as well — psychologically, the brain perceives oneself as more “in control” when your body is standing tall.
4] BREAK A SWEAT
Because CHAARG girls solve everything with exercise, right? ; ) We all know the leading a fit lifestyle is incredibly rewarding — having more self-confidence is only one of the many amazing side effects. The endorphins will be circulating, ++ you’ll be feeling good!
5] ACHIEVE LITTLE GOALS
If you are able to work towards your goals [however small they may be], you’ll develop an inevitable sense of self-sufficiency + independence. When you learn to rely on yourself + know that you can, in fact, achieve anything + everything you set your mind to, your self esteem will boost astronomically.
6] FAKE IT ‘TIL YA MAKE IT
Imagine the most confident woman that you have ever made. Now, pretend that you have that incredible confidence for one day. Then do it all over again the next day, + the next, + the next … Eventually, not only will you be convincing others of your stellar self-confidence, but yourself, too! Before long, you’ll be that girl you’ve always strived to be.
Self-confidence is a state of mind, not any set of rules + actions — it’s about leading a lifestyle revolving around what works for you + for your own personal growth. Strut into every room with a purpose. Bring your own, unique energy into every aspect of life ++ own your confidence!
