We all have those days when we just don’t feel our best, be it physically or emotionally. It’s easy to be negative + pessimistic, to doubt yourself//your abilities, + to sell yourself short. But with every challenge, every bad day, every bad mood — you have a choice. How are you going to deal with it? Are you going to let it affect your entire attitude + ruin your day, or are you going to choose happiness? I’m a strong believer that *confidence* is one of the many keys to happiness.
You can’t always control the situations that life throws at you, but you CAN control how you react to them! You have to be confident + believe that you are strong enough to choose how you’re going to deal with negativity. ++ with every negative thought you think about yourself, you are faced with that choice. You can choose to confront those negative thoughts + decide that you aren’t going to let them define you. You can choose to be happy with yourself + with your life. But in order to do that, you need CONFIDENCE! So if you want to choose happiness, choose confidence first. Here’s how:
Not only do smiles make people look happier [obviously], but they also have a way of making them FEEL happier too. The simple act of smiling can trigger positive emotions. It takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown. It sounds silly, but if you try it *right now*, try to tell me that you don’t feel even a liiiiittle better than you did a second ago. : ) Showing off that smile is just one of the many, many ways you can radiate positive vibes + instantly feel more confident.
2] WORK OUT
Working out obviously makes you physically feel better because you’re getting stronger + healthier. But it’ll also help you feel better mentally + emotionally because of those amazing things called endorphins. It’s a win-win: you look good + you’re proud of it, + you feel happier. Happy people are confident people. : )
“Failing to plan is planning to fail.” If you don’t get organized + have a game plan for whatever goals you’re trying to reach, whether they’re #FitGoals or life goals, you’re probably not going to feel too confident if things start falling apart. Making a plan will automatically make you feel confident — you know what you’re going to do in a given situation, + you are PREPARED for the challenges you may face along the way. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got you covered with our 4 tips for organizing your life ; )
4] STOP COMPARING YOURSELF
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” You absolutely cannot feel confident in yourself if you’re constantly comparing yourself to the traits//abilities//talents of others. It’s hard to love all of the amazing things about YOU when you’re too busy focusing on all of the things you don’t have or the things you haven’t accomplished. Accepting + loving yourself is a DAILY challenge that each of us faces. But again, you have a choice — you can live a life plagued by negativity, without ever realizing your full potential. OR, you can appreciate, embrace + be happy with the body//personality//talents you’ve been blessed with!
5] SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY
The best way to think positive thoughts is to surround yourself with positive people + environments, because they are going to uplift you + encourage you rather than tear you down. When you are a part of a community that genuinely values you as a human being, respects you for all that you stand for, + loves you for all that you are, you will RADIATE confidence. The people you associate with will always influence how you think about yourself. So choose those who only lift you higher, who support you, + who inspire you to be the best version of YOU.
Choose happiness + unleash that confidence!
