Weekends are amazing. They are a chance to relax, see friends, ++ work in some R+R before getting back to a hectic week. Between meetings // homework // more meetings it is hard to work up the effort to be productive. But trust us, maximizing your weekend time will keep you stress free during your crazy Monday through Friday —
1] KEEP A ROUTINE
Weekends are a time to relax + destress from your busy week. Catch a few extra zzz’ss but get your day started in the AM. You’ll give yourself more time + keep your body on a [somewhat] regular sleep schedule. Keep structure in your day to avoid a total Netflix binge + make the most of your two *bonus days.*
2] WORK YOUR SWEAT SESH IN
Pick at least one day to fit in a sweat sesh. Early morning or later in the day — this is totally up to YOU. Take it easy with a long walk or go for a new personal record. Get your body moving, keep those muscles warm, + continue to crush your goals. Maybe try a new studio with friends if you want to combine socializing with sweating [see #5 ; )]. If you’re feeling sore from the week, use the time to work on flexibility + stretch // roll out your muscles.
3] GROCERY SHOP
Make your list for your meals // snacks + head out to the grocery store. Get everything you need so you know you’re prepared with healthy [+ yummy] choices for the week! If you don’t have storage for a *full shop,* pick up a few things to get you started + plan update your list for a mid-week trip.
4] MEAL PLAN // PREP
Once you’ve made your grocery store run, start prepping. You will reduce stress // save time during your week by making your meals in advance ++ being able to grab + go. If you don’t have access to a kitchen, pick up a few things from your campus market you can store in your room + grab on the way to class. New to meal prepping? Grab some tupperware + dive in with these tips.
5] FIND A LOCAL ADVENTURE
Plan an *adventure* you can look forward to for the weekend. Branch out of your comfort zone by exploring a new park // road trip to a different part of the state // try a new fitness studio! If you want to stay on campus, find a campus event you are interested in + actually go. There are *so many* options out there — grab a buddy + get goin’.
